The Sindh government has introduced a new initiative allowing vehicle registration to be completed from home, as announced by Sharjeel Memon, the Minister for Information, Transport, and Excise.
Speaking at a press conference, Memon detailed that this service emerged from a significant meeting with the Excise Department, aiming to provide a more convenient registration process.
Under this system, a fee of ten thousand rupees will be required, with biometric data collection and verification conducted at the applicant’s residence. This change is intended to simplify the registration process and improve accessibility for vehicle owners.

Memon also highlighted the department’s success in generating 6.7 billion rupees in just four hours through the sale of premium number plates, with plans for another auction in September to further increase revenue.
Moreover, the Sindh government has removed the 60-day registration limit, making it compulsory to buy only registered vehicles. Buyers of unregistered vehicles will need to complete the registration process before use. This policy update aims to enhance regulatory compliance and facilitate smoother vehicle transactions.
