KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan increased by Rs3700 per tola on Thursday, reaching Rs278,000 per tola, as international rates continued to increase.
Similarly, 10-gram gold was sold at Rs238,340 after it recorded an increase of Rs3,172, according to rates shared by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewelers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
The international rate of gold increased on Thursday. As per APGJSA, the rate was $2,668 per ounce (with a premium of $20) and was up by $37 during the day.
Separatley, The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a strong rally on Thursday, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index gaining more than 1,300 points during intraday trading.
At 1:15pm, the benchmark index rose by 1,306.46 points, or 1.37 per cent, to 96,852.91 points.
Buying was observed in automobile assemblers, commercial banks, fertilizers, pharmaceuticals, and refinery sectors. Shares of companies including NRL, Hascol, PSO, EFERT, HBL and NBP saw positive trading.
