The price of gold in Pakistan has continued to rise, aligning with increasing international rates, despite earlier expectations of a potential decline.
In the local market, the price for one ton of gold surged by Rs1,500, reaching a record high of Rs277,000.
Additionally, the price for 10 grams of gold increased significantly, selling for Rs237,482 after rising by Rs1,285, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
In the international market, gold prices also climbed on Thursday, with the APGJSA reporting a rate of $2,665 per ounce, including a $20 premium, marking a $12 increase during the day.

Meanwhile, silver prices remained stable at Rs3,050 per tola in the local market. Just the day before, gold had already hit a previous record high of Rs275,500 per tola, following a rise of Rs2,500.
