The price of gold in Pakistan set a new record on Friday, reaching Rs280,900 per tola in the domestic market after a surge of Rs3,000.

The price of 10 grams of gold in the country rose by Rs 2,572, bringing it to a total of Rs 240,826.

According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), the price of gold in the global bullion market increased by $30, bringing it to $2,712 per ounce.

Meanwhile, silver prices gained Rs50 to settle at Rs3,100 per tola.
