Former senator and four others killed in Bajaur blast

Former Senator Hidayatullah, along with four others, have been killed in a blast in Bajaur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to police reports, the explosion occurred in the Damadola area of Bajaur through a remote-controlled device.

Police stated that the former senator’s vehicle was targeted in the attack, leading to the deaths of former senator and four others.

The other victims who died alongside the former senator include tribal leaders Malik Irfan, Malik Nazruddin and others.

Hidayat was a former independent senator from Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).

He went to Damadola village in connection with the electioneering of a candidate in the PK-22 constituency — Najeeb Ullah Khan — who is his nephew. He faced the horrific bomb attack while returning to Bajaur’s headquarters, Khar town, police said.
