Flour prices surge in Punjab

Flour mills across Punjab have raised the rates for 10 kg and 20 kg flour bags, adding to the strain on household budgets.

In the open market, it has become difficult for the low-income group, who are worried about inflation, to buy a bag of flour. In the open market, a 10 kg bag of flour is sold at Rs855 and a 20 kg bag of flour is sold at Rs1710.

Retailers have also set their own rates, first grade ghee is selling at Rs500 and second grade at Rs470 to Rs475 per kg, wholesale sugar is at Rs132 and in leaflets from Rs140 to Rs145 per kg. The community demanded the Prime Minister to reduce the prices of food items
