ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has initiated an inquiry into a controversial tweet from Imran Khan’s official Twitter account.
In this regard, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)I Chairman Barrister Gohar, PTI General Secretary Umar Ayub, and PTI Spokesperson Raoof Hasan have been summoned. The FIA has summoned the three PTI leaders to record their statements on Wednesday at 11 AM.
Furthermore, the essence of the allegation is the misuse of a verified Twitter account belonging to Mr. Imran Khan, Founder of PTI, to disseminate highly objectionable and provocative content against state institutions. This content is deemed likely to incite fear or alarm in the public and could potentially instigate unlawful acts against the state or its institutions, disrupting public tranquility.

The defender must present themselves to provide their version and statement in their defense, in the interest of justice. Failure to appear will result in legal proceedings being initiated against them under Section 174 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Before this FIA inquiry into anti-state tweets from Imran Khan’s official Twitter account was initiated. In this regard, the FIA team contacted Adiala Jail to inspect with Imran Khan. However, Imran Khan conditioned his participation in the FIA investigation on the presence of his lawyers.
