The Cybercrime Circle of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) swiftly acted on complaints from teachers in the education department, resulting in the arrest of two officers.
Arrests and Evidence
The FIA arrested officers Arif Iqbal and Khalid Faraz after gathering compelling evidence of their involvement in the alleged sexual harassment of female teachers. FIA spokesman confirmed that the arrested officers used blackmail via phone and social media. Iqbal is an officer of the Lakki Marwat Educational Department.
Harassment Allegations
According to a complaint filed by a female teacher, the suspects allegedly threatened colleagues with transfers to remote and unsafe areas, claiming possession of compromising material. Additionally, the accused officers reportedly shared objectionable data of the victims via WhatsApp.
Seizure of Evidence
During the investigation, the FIA seized three mobile phones containing objectionable photos and videos from the educational department. Numerous teachers, allegedly victimized by the officers, have reached out to the Cyber Crime Circle Rawalpindi to provide testimonies against the suspects.
Ongoing Investigation
Investigative officials, citing statements collected by the FIA team, revealed that the accused had been harassing female teachers for several months. The suspects were arrested in Lakki Marwat using cutting-edge technology and now face charges under both PECA and PPC. The investigation continues to uncover further details and covers more officials from the Education Department for similar allegations. The FIA has warned that anyone misusing their authority will face severe consequences.
