A senior police official in Faisalabad has issued an order against women police officers wearing niqab, burqa, or gowns over their uniforms while on duty.

According to the order issued by the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations, women police officers are required to keep their faces visible at all times during duty hours. It has been strictly ordered that on-duty policewomen aren’t allowed to wear burqa or hide their identity.

SSP (Operations) Hasan Javed explained that the order was issued due to security concerns. “There is no identification if the face is veiled, and a terrorist could disguise themselves in such attire,” he stated.

Station House Officer (SHO) Madiha Irshad confirmed that they have received the new order. “Orders have been received to keep the faces visible, and we are taking steps to enforce this directive without delay,” she said.
