Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved the introduction of a pre-filled tax return system under the Income Tax Ordinance 2001 for taxpayers.
The system will be implemented starting September 23 for salaried individuals during the fiscal year 2024-25.

In addition, starting in 2025, the pre-filled income tax return system will be extended to businesspersons.
Under this initiative, salaried individuals will see all their tax data pre-filled when they log into the FBR’s website, simplifying the filing process.
