ISLAMABAD: The Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) is expected to extend the deadline for tax return submissions after a meeting between Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir and the business community in Karachi, according to a report by The News on Sunday.
Insider sources at the FBR indicate that the deadline for filing income tax returns for the 2023-24 fiscal year may be extended by 15 days for individuals, associations of persons, businesses, and companies.

Recognizing that some filers may struggle to submit their returns by the deadline, the spokesperson noted that individuals can contact their respective tax commissioners to request an individual extension, as permitted by law.
