The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has intensified its efforts to block mobile SIMs of tax non-filers. According to spokesperson Bakhitar Muhammad, 11,522 mobile SIMs have already been blocked.
On Thursday, the spokesperson stated that the bureau is dedicated to enforcing tax laws, including the Income Tax General Order.
The initiative aims to foster a culture of tax compliance and ensure adherence to tax regulations. “The blocking of mobile SIMs of non-filers has accelerated,” said the spokesperson. “We are committed to promoting tax culture and ensuring the implementation of tax laws.”
The SIMs have been blocked under the Income Tax General Order, with additional blocks expected today as part of the ongoing campaign.
The FBR has provided a list of 506,671 non-filers to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and private telecom companies. To manage the process effectively, these non-filers’ mobile SIMs will be blocked in small groups or batches.
