Pakistan cricketer Fakhar Zaman has responded to a show-cause notice issued by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after expressing support for his teammate, Babar Azam. The notice was sent following Zaman’s public comments favoring Babar, which the board deemed inappropriate.
In his reply, Zaman stated that his remarks were not intended to criticise the PCB or any individuals. He explained that Babar Azam is both a friend and a fellow cricketer, and his comments were merely an expression of support during a challenging time for Babar.

“I am a centrally contracted player and receive a salary from the PCB. My statement was strictly about cricket, and I believe Babar should have been given more opportunities,” Zaman stated.
He further clarified that his intent was not to upset the board, but to share his personal thoughts regarding the situation. “The PCB is our governing body, and I hold it in high regard. My respect for the institution remains unchanged,” Zaman assured in his response.
