Actress and television host Maya Khan, renowned for her outspoken views, recently discussed the rising divorce rates on the 365 Podcast with Adnan Faisal.
During the interview, Faisal inquired about the reasons behind the increasing trend in divorces. He asked, “What are the factors contributing to this rise, and what insights can you share from your experience?”
Maya Khan responded by attributing the rise in divorces to excessive comparisons and unrealistic expectations from both partners. She sthat mutual respect and kindness are crucial, stating, “You can’t expect someone to be kind to you unless you show kindness yourself. This issue is not confined to marriages but extends to workplaces as well. Women thrive where they are respected. While financial stability is important, respect and care are fundamental. A woman may manage the financial burden but suffer emotionally if she feels disrespected. Similarly, men can also experience dissatisfaction when they do not receive deserved recognition or promotions. Our women, in particular, face significant challenges as they often refuse to compromise when necessary.”
Currently, Maya Khan is featured in the television drama Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, penned by Farhat Ishtiaq and directed by Badar Mehmood.
