The diligent efforts of the Special Investment Council (SIC) have paid off as Pakistan’s inaugural digital city is poised to materialize.
In a notable development, a finalized agreement between the Special Technology Zones Authority and the KPIT Board signals the commencement of this groundbreaking venture.
This agreement, inked by Amir Salimi, the ED Zones of STZA, and Dr. Akif, the MD of the KPIT Board, in the presence of officials from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government, STZA, and KPIT Board, sets the stage for the establishment of the Pakistan Digital City. This pioneering initiative will be situated in Haripur, with an estimated cost of eight billion rupees allocated for its realization. Spanning over eleven acres of land, the digital city is slated to commence operations by 2026.
Boasting state-of-the-art technology infrastructure covering an impressive 480,000 square feet, the Pakistan Digital City aims to generate over 4,000 high-tech employment opportunities. Additionally, it is anticipated that the annual exports from the Pakistan Digital City will make a significant contribution to the economy, ranging from three to five million dollars.
