Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has stated that despite the heaviest rainfall in 45 years, all government resources are dedicated to clearing the roads and streets. The response has been swift and unprecedented, ensuring that infrastructure is being cleaned up efficiently.

“Despite the heaviest rain fall in 45 years, roads and streets are being cleared in unprecedented time. The entire government machinery is in the field. I have directed them to employ all resources and drain the water in the next few hours.” wrote Maryam in a tweet.

Heavy rains have led to rainwater flooding homes in the Tajpura area, inundating roads and disrupting morning commutes. Additionally, power outages have affected several regions.

The downpour extended beyond Lahore, impacting cities such as Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Sheikhupura, Pakpattan, Kasur, Jehlum, and others, with many low-lying areas submerged.
