The federal government has decided to raise electricity prices for commercial, agricultural, and large consumers.

Commercial users will see an increase of Rs 8.04 per unit, making the new rate Rs 77.15 per unit starting in July. Agricultural consumers will experience a Rs 6.62 per unit rise, resulting in a new rate of Rs 46.83 per unit.

General services rates will go up by Rs 6.98 per unit, setting the new tariff at Rs 61.03 per unit.

Large consumers will have their rates increased by Rs 5.51 per unit, bringing the new rate to Rs 59.96 per unit. However, the basic electricity tariff for industrial consumers will remain unchanged.

The Power Division has notified NEPRA about the Federal Cabinet’s decision.
