Donkey cart race in Karachi win by ‘Bijli’ from Lyari

WEB DESK: Bijli, the racer Khalid’s donkey, won the donkey cart race in Karachi. The donkey cart race was organized by Commissioner Karachi in Shahra-e-Qaideen, according to an ARY News report.

The race featured various racers from different parts of the city including Liyari, Sher Shah, and Malir. As the flags waved and the bells jingled, the donkeys began to trot, with Bijli, the donkey known for its speed, taking the lead.

The race started from ICI Bridge and included participants such as Lyari, Sher Shah, and others, who raced from their respective areas. The race concluded in front of the Commissioner’s Office on Club Road, Sultanabad, where Khalid’s donkey Bijli triumphed at Waning Point.

In addition, special guest Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab praised the victorious donkey and thanked Commissioner Karachi for organising the event, expressing his desire for more such events in the city.

Mayor Murtaza Wahab also announced that upcoming events, including football and cricket tournaments, would be organised under the supervision of KMC in July.

Furthermore, Bijli’s owner, the race winner, expressed happiness at the victory and mentioned that he had rigorously trained his donkey by feeding it mangoes and murabbas to strengthen it.
