Deputy PM Dar in China to co-chair Pak-China FMs’ Strategic Dialogue

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has landed in Beijing, China. The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister was welcomed by Director General Ambassador Wang Fu Kang and Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Ambassador Khalil Hashmi upon reaching the country.

Dar will co-chair the Fifth Pakistan-China Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue with Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi, covering the entire spectrum of Pakistan-China relations. Furthermore, he will hold meetings with Chinese leaders, senior officials, and key business enterprises.

Recently, a high-level delegation led by Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal also visited China.

Pakistan is in discussions with Chinese leadership to revive over 1800-megawatt of hydropower projects (HPPs) and to secure investment from new Chinese companies for the country’s transmission and distribution network as part of the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
