On Tuesday, the National Emergency Operation Centre of NDMA issued a warning about strong monsoon currents expected to move from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal into northern regions of Pakistan.
This weather pattern is expected to bring widespread rainfall across different areas of the country over the next 24 hours. According to NDMA, the rainfall spell is expected to last until July 27.
Thunderstorms and rain were forecasted for tonight in coastal areas of Sindh, including Karachi, Hyderabad, Umarkot, Mirpur Khas, Nawabshah, Sukkur, Larkana Division, Tharparkar, Badin, Thatta, Sujawal, Islamkot, and nearby regions.

The NEOC forecasted heavy to moderate rainfall for Rohri and Rahim Yar Khan in southern Punjab, as well as Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Kotli, Bhimber, and Mirpur in Azad Kashmir.
Furthermore, rain was expected in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Bajaur, Shangla, Battagram, Buner, Kohat, Mohmand, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Swabi, Nowshera, Mardan, Charsadda, Hangu, Kurram, Waziristan, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, and Dera Ismail Khan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as well as areas in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The forecasted rains could lead to potential flooding in urban areas, increased water levels in streams and rivers, and landslides in mountainous regions.
