LAHORE: The Lahore District Court has approved a three-day physical remand for Amina Arooj, who stands accused of orchestrating a honey-trapping scheme targeting renowned writer and director Khalil ur Rehman Qamar.
The decision was made by Judicial Magistrate Nabila Amir, following a police request for a thorough investigation. The police argued that Arooj’s remand was crucial for recovering assets related to the case. They stressed the need to interrogate Arooj further to uncover additional details and identify any accomplices involved in the scheme against Qamar.
Magistrate Nabila Amir consented to the police’s request, stressing the necessity of extending the investigation to retrieve assets linked to the case.
Additionally, the court ordered that eleven other suspects be sent to jail for an identification parade. This standard procedure involves witnesses verifying the involvement of the accused.
