WEB DESK: Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz on Saturday, has directed necessary measures to be taken for land record digitisation.
A special meeting regarding Board of Revenue reforms was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, in which a briefing was given on the Punjab Urban Land Systems Enhancement (Pulse) project.
Meanwhile, Punjab Land Records Authority and the Management of State Land also briefed on business plan matters. During the briefing, it was stated that under the Pulse project, with the cooperation of the World Bank, land records are being digitised.

Furthermore, all land parcels in Punjab will undergo owner-based digitisation. The revenue system will be made transparent through land partition and parcel documents.
The briefing mentioned that the government will declare all types of clear property as green, lands with issues as yellow or red. A serious review will be conducted on the proposal to abolish the joint account system. Legal complications will be reduced by assigning a separate property number to each buyer.
It was also informed in the briefing that the systems of land ownership and land transfer will be digitised to make them easier. An overseas property transfer service is being evaluated to facilitate overseas Pakistanis with services like individual ownership, mutation, e-Girdawari, and registration.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed the necessary actions to be taken for digitisation and ordered the coordination of relevant departments in the land digitisation process. Information Minister Uzma Bukhari, MPA Sania Ashiq, Chief Secretary, Chairman P&D, Head of SMU, and other officials attended the meeting.
