ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa has deposited an expensive pen gifted to him by the Muslim World League into the Toshakhana, the official repository for valuable gifts received by government officials.

The pen, named Bab-e-Kaaba, was presented to CJP Isa by the Secretary of the Muslim World League, Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Issa, during a meeting last month. The Muslim World League is an international non-governmental organisation based in Makkah, with members from all Islamic countries and sects.

After receiving approval from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, CJP Isa arranged for the pen to be displayed in the Supreme Court of Pakistan museum. The CJP’s secretary had communicated this decision to the Cabinet Division’s secretary in a formal letter.

Established in 1974, Toshakhana, a Persian term meaning “treasure house,” is managed by the Cabinet Division. It stores precious gifts given to rulers, parliamentarians, bureaucrats, and officials by foreign dignitaries. The collection includes bulletproof cars, gold-plated souvenirs, expensive paintings, watches, ornaments, rugs, and swords.
