CII Chairman Dr Raghib Naeemi condemns Swat lynching incident

On Monday, Dr Muhammad Raghib Hussain Naeemi, Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII), condemned the Swat lynching incident, denouncing it as a heinous act.

Speaking on Geo News’ morning show, Geo Pakistan, Allama Raghib Naeemi stated that no one has the Sharia, legal, or moral right to punish anyone.

Allama Raghib Naeemi mentioned that in many cases, courts do not properly conclude cases, which leads to the perception among people that they need to make such decisions themselves. However, the actions that occurred in Swat, Sargodha, Jaranwala, and Sialkot are not Sharia-compliant, nor does the law permit them.

He further stated that in the Swat incident, the culprits should be identified through forensic evidence and mobile location tracking, and those involved should be punished according to the law.

The Chairman of the Islamic Ideology Council said that, according to Sharia, burning someone to death is a severe punishment. He strongly condemned the incident that took place in the Madian area of Swat.
