Zhu Zhaojiang, Chairman of Chinese firm Transsion Holdings, met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday to express his company’s interest in expanding investments in Pakistan.
The focus areas include electric bikes, modern agriculture, mobile phone manufacturing, and Fintech sectors. The PM is currently in China for a five-day official visit,
PM Shehbaz ordered the relevant federal ministers and Pakistan’s Ambassador in China to formulate a strategy in coordination with Transsion Holdings.

The Chinese firm has also been invited to manufacture goods in Pakistan for export purposes. Zhu Zhaojiang informed the prime minister about Transsion Holdings’ current operations in Pakistan, their global exports, and future plans to increase investment in the country.
The company has already set up a mobile phone manufacturing unit in Pakistan, providing jobs to about 5,000 local workers.
Zhu Zhaojiang added that the Chinese firm plans to further invest in the mobile phone industry, which would also enhance mobile phone exports from Pakistan.
