The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is set to roll out a new “efficient, fast, and cost-effective e-office system” beginning Monday, aimed at revolutionising its administrative operations.
A notification issued on Friday under the directive of Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa mandates that all CDA directorates fully adopt the e-office system starting September 2. The initiative is designed to enhance administrative efficiency, streamline processes, and transition the organisation toward a paperless work environment.
In preparation for the launch, the CDA has instructed all directorates to complete essential tasks, including staff training and infrastructure setup, by the deadline. The notification warns that failure to comply will result in strict disciplinary action in accordance with the authority’s rules.
Chairman Randhawa stressed that all core operations of the CDA will now be conducted through the e-office system to ensure greater efficiency and transparency. He underscored the government’s commitment to fostering a paperless environment, which will also enhance transparency by enabling the monitoring of file movement and timelines through a centralised dashboard. The system is expected to prevent unjustified delays and objections, thereby improving the overall effectiveness of the CDA’s operations.
Randhawa expressed confidence that the e-office system will bring substantial improvements in both efficiency and transparency. Furthermore, the CDA is preparing to offer its services online in the near future.
Nauman Khalid, Member Technology, revealed that a test run of the CDA’s new app, “My Islamabad,” is currently underway, with a full launch expected soon. The app will enable citizens to access services from 64 CDA directorates, including property taxes, water charges, and certificates for births and deaths. Additionally, citizens will be able to file complaints and make payments online. The app will also integrate services from the One-Window Operation and the excise and taxation office.
In a related development, CDA’s land records are being digitised, with 30 per cent of the project already completed. This digitisation effort is part of a broader six-month initiative to modernise the authority’s land management system.
