On Wednesday US dollar appreciated against PKR in the interbank market.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan, the dollar closed at Rs277.67 at the end of trading.
This increases 3 paisas compared to the previous day’s closing rate of Rs277.64. In contrast, the open market saw a decrease in the dollar’s value, closing at Rs279.66, down by 3 paisas.
These fluctuations highlight the ongoing volatility in currency exchange rates as economic conditions continue to evolve.
Separately, the gold prices in Pakistan dropped sharply on Tuesday, reflecting a decline in international markets.
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold per tola dropped by Rs1,000, bringing it to Rs274,700. Similarly, the price for 10-gram gold declined by Rs857, settling at Rs235,511.
Internationally, gold prices also dipped, with the rate standing at $2,647 per ounce, a $9 decrease from the previous day.
