WEB DESK: Federal Minister for Planning, Ahsan Iqbal, confirmed a cut of 250 billion rupees in the federal development program, citing stringent conditions from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for new programs.
Iqbal stated that drastic measures were necessary to offset losses and these were reflected in the development budget.

He highlighted the daunting economic challenges, likening them to mountains, and stressed the need for resource mobilization to tackle poverty and ignorance effectively.
The minister explained that the purpose of sacrificing the development budget was to relieve the public and agriculture from additional taxes.
Furthermore, he expressed optimism about revising the development budget in the upcoming fiscal year review.
