The Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has introduced a new scheme allowing for customisable vanity number plates, which will be both legal and equipped with advanced security features.

The initiative aims to offer vehicle owners the option to personalise their registration plates with preferred names and numbers.

The scheme will provide various categories of vanity plates, each designed to meet different aesthetic preferences. Excise officials have confirmed that these plates will be permanently owned by the purchaser, and a comprehensive registry of all vanity plate owners will be established to combat concerns regarding counterfeit plates.
