The Pakistani rupee (PKR), on Wednesday, depreciated by Rs0.5 paisa the US dollar (USD) in Wednesday’s interbank session to settle at Rs277.72.
On Tuesday, the dollar had appreciated against the rupee to close at Rs277.67 in the interbank market.
These fluctuations highlight the ongoing volatility in currency exchange rates as economic conditions continue to evolve.
In a separate development, gold prices in Pakistan on Wednesday declined for the second consecutive day, after a drop in the international bullion rates.
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of per tola gold decreased by Rs3,000 to settle at Rs271,700.
The price of 10-gram gold also recorded a similar decrease, settling at Rs232,393 after undergoing a decrease of Rs2,572.
This reduction reflects a drop in global gold prices, which experienced a decline of $30 to settle at $2,617 per ounce.
