WEB DESK: A notification issued by the government outlines significant reductions in the prices of electricity and wheat flour. The AJK Food Department disclosed that the price of a 20kg bag of flour has been lowered to Rs1,000. Additionally, electricity tariffs for domestic consumers utilising 100 units will see a decrease of three rupees per unit.

The reduction in electricity rates continues, with a Rs5 per unit decrease for consumers utilising up to 300 units, and a Rs6 per unit reduction for those exceeding 300 units. Commercial consumers using 100 units will enjoy a Rs10 per unit reduction, while those utilising over 300 units will benefit from a substantial Rs15 per unit reduction.

Furthermore, the government has implemented a noteworthy decrease of Rs1,100 per 40kg in the price of government-provided wheat flour. This means that consumers can now purchase a 20kg bag of fine flour for Rs1,000, while a 40kg bag is priced at Rs2,000.

The proactive measures by the Azad Kashmir government, led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, signify a significant step towards addressing the concerns voiced by the Awami Action Committee. These measures aim to ease the financial burden on citizens amidst the prevailing economic challenges faced by the region.
