WEB DESK: In a move mirroring recent adjustments by other major automotive players in Pakistan, Changan has announced a substantial reduction in the price of its popular crossover SUV, the ‘Oshan X7’, by Rs300,000. The reduction, however, is time-bound, with the offer valid from May 4 until June 15, 2024.
The Comfort variant of the Changan Oshan X7 will now be available at Rs7,999,000, down from its previous price of Rs8,299,000, marking a notable decrease. Similarly, the price of the Oshan X7 FutureSense has been adjusted downwards by Rs400,000, bringing its new price to Rs8,549,000 from the previous Rs8,949,000.
According to media reports, the announcement comes amidst a series of recent price reductions in the automotive market, with Kia leading the charge by initiating a reduction of over Rs1.5 million for the Stonic. This was followed by price decreases of Rs0.45 million for the Peugeot 2008 and Rs0.71 million for the Suzuki Swift.

However, notably absent from this trend are Honda Atlas and Toyota Motors, the two prominent Japanese vehicle assemblers, who have chosen not to participate in the ongoing price war.
In a related development, Master Changan Motors Limited (MCML) is poised to introduce its first pure electric vehicle brand in Pakistan, Deepal (S07 SUV and L07 Sedan), in the coming months, according to media reports. While the company has neither confirmed nor denied this information officially, a senior executive, while withholding specifics on the model, indicated that the launch of an EV is indeed under consideration.
Under the ambit of the Vast Ocean Plan, Changan’s parent company has introduced three new EV brands tailored for distinct customer segments – Avatr, Deepal, and Nevo.
