Hyundai Nishat Motors has officially launched the highly anticipated 7th-generation Hyundai Elantra Hybrid, marking Pakistan’s first locally assembled hybrid sedan.

The event, held at a prominent hotel in Karachi, featured Senior General Manager Malik Muhammad Adnan, who shared insights about the company’s plans for the new vehicle, including the potential for a zero-interest installment plan.

Possible Zero-Interest Installment Plan

Malik Adnan highlighted that while Hyundai has not yet launched a zero-interest plan for the Elantra Hybrid, the company is closely monitoring the market response.

If demand is strong, Hyundai Nishat may consider introducing a zero-interest installment plan, similar to those previously offered for other Hyundai models.

  • Potential Zero-Interest Plan: To be decided based on consumer interest.
  • Current Production Capacity: 200 units per month.
  • Market Challenges: Sales volume of vehicles has dropped by 50%, impacting localization plans.

The Elantra Hybrid is powered by Hyundai’s Smartstream 1.6L GDI Atkinson cycle engine paired with an electric motor, ensuring powerful yet efficient performance. The hybrid system includes:

  • Engine: 1.6L GDI Atkinson cycle 4-cylinder
  • Motor: Permanent magnet synchronous motor
  • Combined Power: 139 hp and 264 Nm torque
  • Battery: Lithium-ion polymer with 1.32 kWh capacity
