WEB DESK: Gold rates in Pakistan saw an upward trend on Monday, mirroring the global surge in prices. The precious metal reached Rs247,300 per tola after gaining Rs800 throughout the day, according to data from the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).

According to media reports, the price for 10 grams of gold rose to Rs212,020, marking an increase of Rs1,686 from previous levels. This movement comes after a decline of Rs1,100 per tola observed on Saturday.

International gold prices also experienced a rise, reaching $2,371 per ounce with a $20 premium, following an $8 increase in the global market, as reported by APGJSA.

Notably, gold prices in Pakistan hit a record high of Rs247,600 per tola on April 9, coinciding with a significant surge in the international rate.

In contrast, silver rates remained steady at Rs2,650 per tola on Monday, maintaining stability amidst the fluctuations in gold prices.
