KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan decreased by Rs1,700 per tola on Monday, the first trading day of the last month of 2024, reaching Rs274,500 per tola.
According to rates shared by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), 10 grammes of gold was sold at Rs235,340 after it recorded a decrease of Rs1,457.
The price of silver metal remained stable at Rs3,400.
The local decrease in the local price of gold followed the drop in the international rate.
The international rate of gold decreased on Monday. As per APGJSA, the rate was $2,633 per ounce (with a premium of $20) and was down by $17 during the day.

Separately on Monday, the Pakistan Stock Exchange benchmark KSE-100 Index continued its positive momentum of the previous week.
The Pakistan Stock Exchange has started the first day of the trading week on a positive note, with the 100 index crossing 102,000 points.
The 100 index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange rose by 835 points to 102,192 at the start of the trading.
The index also reached a high of 102,288 points during the trading session from morning till now.
At the end of the previous trading week, the index closed at 101,357 points.
