The upward trend in gold prices in Pakistan continued on the last trading day of the week, Saturday, with gold hitting a record high of Rs281,800 per tola.

According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA) the price of yellow metal increased Rs900 per tola.

The price for 10 grams of gold increased by Rs772, bringing it to a record Rs241,598.

On Friday, gold had already hit an earlier peak of Rs280,900 per tola with an increase of Rs3,000.

Experts attribute the continued upward trend in gold prices to rising tensions in the Middle East, uncertainty around the upcoming US elections, and expectations of easing monetary policy.
