The price of gold in Pakistan ended its winning streak on Thursday, dropping by Rs2,300 per tola, bringing the new price to Rs283,100.

According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 10 grams of gold dropped by Rs1,971, bringing it down to Rs242,713.

On Wednesday, the price of gold had surged by Rs2,000, reaching an all-time high of Rs285,400.

Meanwhile, the price of silver per tola remained stable at Rs3,350.

In recent weeks, gold prices have seen a record increase due to rising demand for safe-haven assets, driven by conflicts in the Middle East and uncertainty surrounding the upcoming US elections.

Bullion is considered a safeguard against economic and geopolitical uncertainty.
