Board exams rescheduled in AJK due to tense situation

The Mirpur Intermediate and Secondary Education Board has decided to postpone the Intermediate examinations in light of the tense situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

As per an official notification, the exams originally scheduled for May 13 will now begin on May 25.

In a recent development amidst the unrest in AJK, negotiations between the Joint Action Committee and the government have concluded successfully.

Azad Kashmir was in turmoil over the weekend due to clashes between protesters and police amid ongoing demonstrations against increased electricity bills. Despite efforts, normalcy wasn’t restored on Sunday, with a strike causing further tension. Tragically, an additional sub-inspector lost his life, and nearly 15 police personnel were injured in the violence.
