LAHORE: A recent political survey conducted by the University of Management and Technology (UMT) has revealed a significant shift in public support for Pakistan’s major political parties, Daily Pakistan has reported. The survey results indicate a decline in PTI’s popularity, while PML-N has experienced a notable surge in support.
Key Findings:
- In 2024, PTI held 51.71% public support, which has now dropped to 43.37% in 2025.
- PML-N’s popularity has seen a significant increase, rising from 13.40% to 24.10%.
- PPP’s support remains unchanged, whereas JI’s popularity has grown from 2.59% to 4.82%.
Youth Perspectives:
The survey also captured the opinions of young voters regarding the contributions of political parties to Pakistan’s progress over the past decade:
- 47% identified PML-N as the most influential party in national development.
- 46% attributed Pakistan’s progress to PTI.
- 5% credited JI, while 4% acknowledged PPP’s role.
Public Sentiment on National Direction:
An increasing number of young respondents believe Pakistan is heading in the right direction. The survey found:
- 21% more youth now feel optimistic about the country’s trajectory, compared to only 8% last year.
Government Performance Ratings:
Public satisfaction with the current government’s performance has also improved:
- 27% of respondents expressed contentment with governance, a sharp rise from last year’s 10%.
