Senator Rubina Khalid, Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), has announced an increase in the amount provided under the Kafaalat Programme.

Speaking to media representatives at the BISP zonal office in Gilgit on Thursday, she revealed that the number of families benefiting from BISP will reach 10 million by the end of this year.

She expressed her gratitude to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for increasing the financial budget of BISP. As a result, the quarterly Kafalat payment will be raised from Rs 10,500 to Rs 13,500, effective from January 2025.

Senator Rubina Khalid also stated that dynamic registration centers across the country are continuing to register deserving families. In addition, a re-verification process is underway to reassess the socio-economic conditions of already registered households to ensure they meet eligibility criteria.
