WEB DESK: Balochistan’s Finance Minister Shoaib Nosherwani announced a series of initiatives aimed at bolstering the province’s development and public welfare.

Key highlights include the creation of 3,000 new government jobs, reflecting a strategic move towards enhancing employment opportunities across Balochistan. This initiative is set to invigorate the local economy and provide much-needed avenues for career growth.

A substantial allocation of Rs. 9.146 billion has been earmarked for the education sector, underlining the government’s commitment to improving literacy and educational infrastructure. This allocation represents over 12% of the total budget and includes creating 535 new positions within the education system.

Furthermore, Rs. 4.80 billion has been allocated to address financial crises in 11 universities across the province, ensuring the continuity and enhancement of academic pursuits.

Addressing critical sectors, the Finance Minister allocated Rs. 8.4 billion towards security measures, reinforcing efforts to maintain peace and stability across Balochistan. In a bid to bolster agricultural development, Rs. 1.6 billion has been allocated to enhance productivity and sustainability within the agricultural sector.

The budget also outlines plans for comprehensive infrastructure development with 147 schemes slated for implementation. Notably, Rs. 5.1 billion has been designated for transportation infrastructure, aiming to improve connectivity and accessibility throughout the province.

Additionally, the budget forecasts a significant contribution of Rs. 72.6 billion from federal resources, underscoring collaborative efforts toward regional development.

Revenue projections indicate that direct transfers and non-development grants will contribute Rs. 66.7 billion to provincial coffers, supplemented by an estimated Rs. 4.7 billion from provincial taxes. This financial strategy ensures sustainable revenue streams to support ongoing and future developmental projects.

Moreover, the budget allocates Rs. 9.3 billion for maintaining law and order, with plans underway to establish a government hospital in Balochistan, further enhancing healthcare facilities across the region.
