PESHAWAR (Zeeshan Kakakhel): Shakeel Ahmed, the Minister for Communications and Works in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has resigned from his position, following a directive from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan.
The decision comes after a report from the Good Governance Committee, which was established under Khan’s guidance, recommended his removal.
Sources from Chief Minister house told Azaad Digital’s correspondent Zeeshan Kakakhel that a summary for Shakeel Ahmed’s removal was sent to the Governor’s House the previous day. According to the sources, the CM Gandapur had already decided to remove Ahmed from the cabinet before he tendered his resignation.
Tensions had been brewing between Ahmed and CM Gandapur. Ahmed had met with Imran Khan to express his grievances, and subsequently conveyed these concerns during a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club, where he criticised the government and alleged corruption within the cabinet.
