SYDNEY: Australia defeated Pakistan in the second match of the three-match T20 series by 13 runs, winning the series 2-0 on Saturday, November 16, at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Chasing the target of 148 runs set by Australia in the match played in Sydney, the Pakistan team was bowled out for 134 runs in 19.4 overs.

Australian captain Josh Ingles won the toss and elected to bat first, Matthew Short and Jack Fraser McGurk opened the innings for Australia.

The first two overs of the innings cost Pakistan dearly, but Haris Rauf sent Jack Fraser and then Kangaroos skipper Jos Ingles to the pavilion for a total of 52. Abbas Afridi dismissed Matthew Short for an individual score of 32. Aaron Hardy scored 28 runs and became the victim of Abbas Afridi.

In the scheduled 20 overs, the Australian team scored 147 runs for the loss of 9 wickets, on behalf of Pakistan, Haris Rauf dismissed 4 players and Abbas Afridi dismissed 3 players, while two wickets fell to Safian Moqim.

No change was made in Australia’s team for the second T20 match, while one change was made in Pakistan’s team and Sufian Moqim was included in the team in place of Haseebullah.

Pakistan team includes captain Muhammad Rizwan, Babar Azam, Sahibzada Farhan, Usman Khan Salman Ali Agha, Irfan Khan, Abbas Afridi, Shaheen Shah, and Haris Rauf. Apart from this, Naseem Shah and Sufian Muqim are also included in the 11 players.

It should be remembered that in the rain-affected first T20 match, Australia defeated Pakistan by 31 runs. Australia has a one-nil lead in the three-match T20I series.
