WEB DESK: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore issued orders on Monday, prohibiting the police from arresting former minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry in connection with cases stemming from the May 9 incidents.
According to media reports, the ATC judge rendered these decisions after granting interim bail to Fawad Chaudhry in four cases related to the May 9 incidents until April 20. The court further directed the police to furnish the record of cases registered against Chaudhry during the forthcoming hearing.
Speaking to reporters outside the court, Fawad Chaudhry remarked that he had endured incarceration on four occasions and expressed optimism for the future.

Chaudhry faces multiple cases, including allegations of corruption. On April 6, he was released from Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi. Earlier, on April 1, a division bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), headed by Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri, granted bail to Chaudhry in a National Accountability Bureau (NAB) case related to land in Jhelum.
Fawad’s legal counsel, Qaiser Imam, contended before the court that his client was accused of accepting a bribe of Rs 5 million from a citizen. He argued that the complainant alleged Chaudhry accepted the bribe and promised employment, yet he had never encountered the complainant whose complaint led to the filing of a First Information Report (FIR) against Chaudhry.
