Following Supreme Court of Pakistan’s order, another popular restaurant in the Margalla Hills National Park has also announced its permanent closure. In a statement on Instagram, La Montana announced that it will be shutting down on September 11 this year.

“After its successful completion of 25 years of serving excellent traditional Pakistani food with great hospitality to our great nation, valued foreign missions and guest from abroad we are just very heart broken at this unfortunate closure,” it stated.

La Montana also expressed regret over the termination of employees, whose families have relied on the restaurant since 1999. The restaurant noted that a one-month notice is being provided before the terminations take effect.

The restaurant also issued an apology to both guests and employees for the difficult decision to close. They added that this closure not only results in job losses but also means the owners are facing a loss of 1 billion rupees in investments.
