Anil Kapoor steps into Bigg Boss, replacing Salman Khan as host

WEB DESK: JioCinema has announced that veteran Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor will take over from Salman Khan as the host of Bigg Boss OTT 3. The announcement was made via a promo shared on Instagram on Friday, which craftly built up the anticipation for Kapoor’s grand reveal.

The promo begins with a person walking through a room as scenes from previous seasons of Bigg Boss play in the background. Anil Kapoor is then heard asking for a chair, although his face remains hidden. With his signature whistle, Kapoor commands, “Get the chair,” to which someone in the background responds enthusiastically, “Sir, Jhakas.” Kapoor then remarks, “Enough of Jhakas, let’s do something special,” heightening the excitement for his role as the new host.

As Kapoor speaks, he takes his seat, though his face is still not shown in the promo, adding to the suspense.

The decision to replace Salman Khan reportedly stems from scheduling conflicts. Other potential hosts considered included Karan Johar and Sanjay Dutt, but ultimately, Anil Kapoor was chosen. The previous teaser, which featured Kapoor’s iconic ‘Jhakaas’ catchphrase, had already hinted at his new role as the host.
