Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan is celebrating his 82nd birthday today, marking another milestone in his illustrious career.
Apart from today, Amitabh also commemorates August 2nd as his second birthday, a date of great significance.
The Near-Fatal Accident that Gave Bachchan a ‘Second Life’
In 1982, while filming the movie Coolie under the direction of Manmohan Desai, Amitabh suffered a life-threatening accident during an action scene with co-star Puneet Issar.
The injury was so severe that he was rushed to a hospital in Bengaluru, where he was declared clinically dead due to excessive internal bleeding.
However, after hours of medical intervention and an adrenaline injection, Bachchan miraculously survived. Since then, August 2nd has been observed as his second birthday, a day he celebrates with deep gratitude along with his fans.
Known as the ‘Shahenshah’ of Bollywood, the veteran actor has garnered immense love and admiration from fans around the globe.
According to Indian media reports, thousands of his loyal fans have gathered outside his residence, Jalsa, in Mumbai, eagerly awaiting a glimpse of the star.
