The lawyer of Amina Urooj, who stands accused of honey-trapping and abducting renowned playwright Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar, has made startling claims. According to the lawyer, Qamar allegedly blackmailed Urooj and coerced her into a physical relationship under the pretext of collaborating on a project.

In a video circulating on social media, Urooj’s lawyer presented new details, asserting that his client was also a victim of abduction alongside Qamar. “He [Khalil] was blackmailing her, claiming he had objectionable videos of her and was forcing her into a physical relationship if she wanted to work in a drama,” the lawyer disclosed.

The lawyer further detailed that Urooj sought assistance from some individuals who advised her to lure Qamar to a location where they would compel him to delete the compromising videos. However, the situation took a drastic turn when these individuals also abducted Urooj, separating both of them into different vehicles.

“She was blackmailed from both sides,” the lawyer asserted, maintaining that Urooj was not involved in any criminal activity. He added that she was illegally confined for three days without any formal charges or First Information Report (FIR).

The lawyer claimed that individuals in plain clothes, without any female police officials present, kidnapped both Urooj and Qamar. “It was only when the news came to light that they filed an FIR and showed the arrest of Amina,” he said.

At a press conference on Monday, Khalil ur Rehman confirmed his contact with Urooj, explaining that she had invited him to discuss a drama project. According to the FIR, Qamar received a call from Urooj, inviting him to her residence in Bahria Town for the meeting.

“I was sitting with the woman when someone knocked on the door, and she told me it might be a delivery boy as she had ordered some food,” Qamar recounted in his complaint.

The “London Nahi Jaunga” writer narrated that seven armed men then barged into the room, forcing him to surrender his belongings, including his car keys and mobile phone. The suspects subsequently withdrew Rs267,000 from Qamar’s ATM after coercing him to reveal his PIN. He was then forced into a car, subjected to physical and emotional torture, and abandoned in a deserted location.

During the press conference, Qamar revealed that doctors had advised him to avoid sunlight, which was why he met with Urooj late at night. He also mentioned that the woman had persistently tried to convince him to meet over the past 15 days, and he eventually agreed to meet her at 4:40 am.
