Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has criticised the federal government and its allies, stating that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) does not seek conflict or harm, but the government is using underhanded tactics to block their path.
Gandapur met with PTI members and leaders from the province’s four regions to finalise preparations for a peaceful protest in Islamabad on October 4. The meeting focused on ensuring maximum participation through a well-devised strategy.
Gandapur emphasised that PTI aims to avoid conflict, adding that the police are their brothers, and any harm to them would also hurt PTI.
Moreover, he asserted that peaceful protest is a constitutional and democratic right, and the current government’s actions are being perceived by the public as unjust, particularly in attempts to weaken PTI through constitutional amendments.

In addition, reflecting on past protests, Gandapur acknowledged poor planning, which forced a retreat midway. He noted that this time, well-trained teams would lead the convoys, equipped with better masks and safety gear.
He also highlighted that heavy machinery would be positioned ahead of the convoys to clear any blocked routes, ensuring smoother passage to D-Chowk, even if it takes days.
The chief minister announced that convoys would depart from Peshawar at 11:00 AM and Swabi at noon, with Gandapur himself leading the procession. He urged party leaders to maintain discipline and follow the planned course of action.
