An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad granted bail to Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan on Friday. Judge Abual Hasnaat Zulqarnain approved their release, subject to surety bonds worth Rs. 20,000 each.

The court did not hear any arguments before granting bail. It is pertinent to mention that the sisters of former PM Imran Khan were arrested on October 4 and spent eight days in physical custody before being transferred to judicial lockup on October 12.

Meanwhile, Bushra Bibi, the wife of PTI founder Imran Khan, was released from Adiala Jail on Thursday after securing bail in the Toshakhana-II case. Her release followed a decision by the Islamabad High Court, where Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb granted her post-arrest bail on Wednesday against surety bonds of Rs1 million.

Bushra Bibi had initially received a 14-year sentence in the original Toshakhana case in January but had her sentence suspended by the Islamabad High Court, only to be re-arrested later in the Toshakhana-II case. She had been held in Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi for nine months before her release this week.
